That's right, Nikki and I have been planning a trip to the southern portion of the Americas for a few years now and it's finally going to happen. You might even say it's on like donky kong.

The Countries

It all starts in Spain. The madre patria. Het moederland. We went to Spain a while ago and got to visit Sevilla and Granada. It was just for a weekend (we were living in the Netherlands at the time) but it was awesome. Finally we get to go back and see Barcelona, Madrid, and probably more of the fun Andalucian cities.

After that, it's straight to the Southern Cone of South America - Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Peru, Bolivia. We'll be down there visiting all those places for about 9 months.

After a brief visit to Los Angeles in May (hey, LA was and is pretty heavily influenced by the Spanish speaking world) we'll be headed to Mexico and perhaps back to Guatemala.

The Motivation

Because we can :) This has been a goal of Nikki's since she was just a little teen-age crush of mine. When we got hitched we dedicated ourselves to doing this at some point in our lives. And with no kids, me having a flexible job, and a good friend to rent our house it seems like the stars aligned for us to go.

So, we got our tickets for a portion of the trip. It's a real thing now. We can change them, but we can't get a refund.

Come visit

We'll be spending a lot of time in Mendoza, Argentina. But if you want to see other parts of South America near there then come on down and visit. We'd love travel buddies.
