I love to pour over them imagining what the place is like, or letting them remind me of my favorite parts of a trip to a specific area. As we spent our 9 months in the Spanish Speaking world the one souvenir we kept from every location was the local maps. I'm sure that in years to come these will be great for kickstarting our memories.

Historical Maps of Latin American Locations

http://wanderlusting.org/blog/greg/historic-maps-latin-america#comments English Latin America/Caribbean Touristing Work Wed, 11 Mar 2009 17:05:15 +0000 greg 477 at http://wanderlusting.org Argentine Business - Why is it so hard? http://wanderlusting.org/blog/greg/argentine-business-why-it-so-hard
They got me at the grocery store

http://wanderlusting.org/blog/greg/argentine-business-why-it-so-hard#comments English Latin America/Caribbean Work Sun, 23 Dec 2007 20:21:13 +0000 greg 295 at http://wanderlusting.org Mi Querido Mexico http://wanderlusting.org/blog/brook/mi-querido-mexico
Hola, hola!

Back in Mexico! This time for a while. I finished the old masters degrees, and got a three month mini-job here in Mexico City. But they've offered me a year contract, so I'm staying!
Here's the quick rundown: The NGO I'm working for is a policy advocacy and information group on reproductive rights, with a focus on abortion rights. It is a nice atmosphere, and I feel like my work uses my skills and training. My honey was here for the three months, but has headed back home... a year is kind of a long time to acompaƱar someone.

http://wanderlusting.org/blog/brook/mi-querido-mexico#comments Latin America/Caribbean Spanish Work MMM - Most Mexican Moment Tue, 25 Sep 2007 22:46:34 +0000 Brook 212 at http://wanderlusting.org On my way again! http://wanderlusting.org/blog/brook/on-my-way-again
Hello again, faithful wanderlusters! I am about to finish my masters, and have a temporary job in Mexico City. I am emocionada to be in Mexico again, and promise to write a lot about my time there. If anyone will be in the area, I already have an apartment and would love to have visitors.
http://wanderlusting.org/blog/brook/on-my-way-again#comments Latin America/Caribbean Work Tue, 22 May 2007 06:48:08 +0000 Brook 189 at http://wanderlusting.org solidarity with other central american travelers http://wanderlusting.org/solidarity-with-other-central-american-travelers
Some good friends of ours have just begun a trip of about 6 months through Central America. Their goal is go learn Spanish really well, do some volunteer work to help improve the environment, and/or socio-political system, and to have a little fun as well.

Central American Travel Blog

They have set up a nice travel blog to cover their trip and even have a first post from guatemala. Great news!

Rain Skirts - Like Rain Pants - but way better

They are also working on and planning the basis for a really innovative company selling Rain Skirts which is a functional and fashionable alternative to a trench coat or rain pants. It's a great idea and nearing full fruition which is very exciting as well.

So, congrats the Reid and Libby for their boldness and dedication to their dreams. It's really cool to see these things coming together for them and to support them in the process.

http://wanderlusting.org/solidarity-with-other-central-american-travelers#comments English Advice Latin America/Caribbean Touristing Volunteer Work Fri, 23 Feb 2007 15:53:57 +0000 greg 186 at http://wanderlusting.org holy mierda http://wanderlusting.org/holy-mierda
The organization is not really what I expected. I feel a little bit misled by the doctor who brought me down here to be a social worker and to do my research. The guy is the medical director and is getting a divorce from his wife, who was the administrator here. She took all of the paperwork and a lot of the medical equipment with her when she left a few weeks ago and my feeling is that this organization is on the verge of collapse. I found some stacks of newspapers in the Dr.’s office and they are articles from the day before I arrived and around then about polic

http://wanderlusting.org/holy-mierda#comments Latin America/Caribbean Work Mon, 28 Aug 2006 20:00:16 +0000 Brook 86 at http://wanderlusting.org It just keeps getting better (and by better I mean worse) http://wanderlusting.org/it-just-keeps-getting-better-and-by-better-i-mean-worse
Only two of the offices here have air conditioning and I am working in the Dr.s office which does, and which is an amazing luxury. Don’t tell anyone but I sear that one of the medical certificates this guy has is a forgery!
